Gourmet Restaurant On a square overlooking the tramway, just a stone's throw from the Maine River, l'Ardoise shares its old-fashioned bistro-style cuisine, where confit veal shank rubs shoulders with grilled octopus, carrots and chorizo, in an attractive €25 menu, the perfect egg is at the center of a cream of asparagus and haddock, mackerel is grilled on a bed of crunchy fennel before a classic dessert of caramel mousse and candied apple; the wine list gives pride of place to Loire Valley wines, and the ambience of the place is remarkable; we'd like the duo of chefs, with their undoubted gastronomic track record, to make us want to return with a slightly more innovative menu.
