Alan Geaam, chef of the eponymous restaurant in Paris, reveals five good places to find good meat, cheese or wine alive in Paris.

Alan Geaam is a chef with an extraordinary background. Raised in Lebanon, the chef fled the war before arriving in Paris with only a backpack. Starting out as a construction worker, then as a dishwasher in a restaurant, Alan Geaam gradually climbed the ladder to become head chef of his own establishment in 2007. Today, the chef is at the helm of his eponymous restaurant, awarded three toques by Gault&Millau, as well as several bistros and street food addresses featuring Lebanese cuisine in the capital. To delight his guests' taste buds, Alan Geaam selects his raw materials from quality artisans and producers. He does the same for his own personal consumption, and reveals five of his favorite Parisian addresses.

Viande Viande, a butcher's shop in Paris

Viande Viande lives up to its name. This butcher's shop, on rue Saint-Martin in Paris, is run by "friendly, passionate craftsmenwho represent the new generation of butchers", says Alan Geaam. You'll find free-range beef, pork and poultry, sourced directly from producers. The chef particularly recommends their matured meat!

Saisons Fromagerie, Paris

Also in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, Alan Geaam recommends Saisons Fromagerie. As its name suggests, the shop follows the cheese seasons to the letter (yes, there are some!) and the chef particularly enjoys raclette and Cantal in winter. "Their goat's cheese is also excellent," advises Alan Geaam. The boutique also offers quality butters and creams, as well as a selection of biodynamic wines.

Le Palais du Fruit, Paris

Alan Geaam loves to go to Le Palais du Fruit, rue Montorgueil, for his fruit supplies. "I go there at least three times a week on my way home from the gym," confides the chef. "They've got great fruit, but also really nice fresh herbs," he adds.

Patrick Roger's chocolates, Paris

For a chocolate treat, Alan Geaam recommends a safe bet: Patrick Roger's boutique. The chocolatier, known for his sublime cocoa sculptures, offers magnificent gift boxes and bars, as well as books to help you discover more about his extraordinary world.

Wines from La Prohibition, Paris

To conclude this Parisian selection, Alan Geaam gives us the name of one of his favorite wine shops: La Prohibition, also in the 3rd arrondissement. People come here to buy live wine and quality spirits such as whisky, but also to sit down for a few moments and share a fine platter of charcuterie and cheeses.
