The day after the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, on July 27, 2024, Air France will reveal a new ephemeral address in a unique location and decor, within the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Ready for a gastronomic take-off.

Just under two months after announcing the appointment of Xavier Thuizat as head sommelier, Air France is emphasizing its commitment to the "art de vivre à la française". To coincide with the Olympic period, the airline is opening a temporary restaurant at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. The resident of the Crillon will be present at the inauguration ceremony, as will our Pâtissière de l'Année 2017, Nina Métayer. The event will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024. The Parisian museum is also home to an 850-square-meter open-access area in honor of the flagship of French aeronautics.

A meal in the form of an Air France experience

The restaurant at the Palais de Tokyo, ideally located close to many of the sporting events, is an opportunity to take a gastronomic break with a difference. To take this experience to the next level, Air France has transformed the restaurant into an aerial stage. The meal will include, for example, the Air France business meal tray. The rest of the tableware has also been designed by Jean-Marie Massaud.

On the kitchen side, the menu is designed by Arnaud Lallement, 5-toque chef at L'Assiette Champenoise. Composed of four courses, excluding amuse-bouche, the menu leaves you free to choose your main course. Among the four proposals, you can choose between a meat dish: pork parmentier spiced up with green curry and lemongrass sauce, a poultry dish: chicken fillet and buckwheat served with onion-garlic cream and gnocchi, a fish dish: crab and shrimp ravioli, followed by vegetables, sautéed spinach and a Brittany curry sauce, and finally a vegetarian dish: oven-roasted carrots with a tangy cereal purée. To round off this gastronomic flight, the dessert was imagined by Nina Métayer and will take the form of a hazelnut, caramel and dark chocolate velvet match.

Alongside the lunch, the 850-square-meter exhibition space is open to all. It features works of art such as a red dress with an infinite train, designed by Rabih Kayrouz. You can also try out one of the airline's business cabins for a taste of the Air France experience.

All these novelties can be seen from July 27 to August 11, 2024 at the Palais de Tokyo, 13 avenue du Président Wilson, 75016 Paris. Access to the exhibition is free of charge from 10.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The restaurant, on the other hand, requires a reservation for lunch between 11.30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
