Remarkable Restaurant Young Elise Veyrat, who trained in Paul Bocuse's kitchens, has been courageously taking over "La Maison des Bois" from her father Marc, now a Gault&Millau Academician and 5 gold toques, since the end of 2022. The estate's setting, the restaurant's décor and the view are as magical as ever, and Elise has brought her own unique touch to the place: young, feminine and relaxed, while maintaining exemplary professionalism. Just like Valentin, who looks after the sommellerie... In the dining room, a 100% all-female team is extremely friendly, full of goodwill and motivated enough to overlook any minor imperfections. The dishes, focusing on vegetables and mountain herbs, are well worth three toques today, with two special moments: "Le comté de Savoie en une assiette" (tagliatelle, crayfish bisque, crayfish), and "La pêche lacustre": the delicate dance of pike and beet. And in a very nice touch to end the meal with the beautiful cheese cart ("ercheu"): "la fin du bal": onion soup with summer Beaufort brunoise. Only the sweet score (dessert and mignardises) seemed slightly below our expectations this year, but all in all, we're making real progress towards a memorable event.
