From Thursday September 7 to Sunday September 10, 2023, the Village International de la Gastronomie took over the Quais Jacques Chirac in Paris. Visitors were able to discover cuisines from all over the world, as well as Gault&Millau and its books.

The Village International de la Gastronomie was back for another edition. From Thursday, September 7 to Sunday, September 10, 2023, the event, initiated by chef Guillaume Gomez, took place in the Trocadéro gardens in Paris. On the program were a host of events, feeding both stomachs and reflections on the future of global gastronomy.

The 1ᵉʳ Forum France de l'alimentation

6000 m² of producer and artisan stands, 200 cooking demonstrations and events, over 70 countries represented, food counters... This sixth edition of the Village International de la Gastronomie was to be a rich one. Parisians and tourists alike were able to (re)discover the culinary cultures of many French countries and regions, and take a world tour without leaving the capital.

For the very first time, the event was also accompanied by the Forum de France de l'Alimentation, hosting 40 round-table discussions on topics relating to the future of the food industry. These conferences were held at the Musée de l'Homme, partner of the event, but also within the village itself, in the Grande Bibliothèque. The various discussions covered topics such as the future of school canteens, transmission and sustainable food.

There was also an Espace Auguste Escoffier, where visitors could enjoy an exhibition, round-table discussions and demonstrations orchestrated in turn by over 100 disciples from around the world.

The Village International de la Gastronomie, under the patronage of French President Emmanuel Macron and the honorary presidency of Stéphanie LayaniStéphanie Layani (President of the Rungis National Interest Market) and the patronage of Guy Savoy, was expecting up to 40.000 visitors for this 2023 edition.

Don't miss Gault&Millau

Gault&Millau was present on the Lions Paris France International Gastronomie stand from 10am to 10pm. It was possible to buy the latest 109 book: the new-blooded address book of the year, just out in bookshops. Back issues of the France Guide and 109 were also on sale at reduced prices.
Throughout the festivities, many visitors trod the village's artificial turf and discovered the Gault&Millau marquee in this huge alleyway. Chef Guillaume Gomez himself, as well as the French Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Trade, Crafts and Tourism, Olivia Grégoire, and other culinary personalities such as Glenn Viel, Mercotte and Christophe Hay paid us a visit. Here's a look back at the four-day event (see photos on front page).
