Toquicimes returns to Megève: date, sponsor, program...

Mathilde Bourge | 6/27/24, 3:27 PM

The Toquicimes culinary festival, held every year in Megève, will be back from October 18 to 20, 2024. Yannick Alléno will be the patron of this new edition.

Toquicimes is back! After welcoming nearly 30,000 people in 2023, Megève's culinary festival is hoping for another sell-out from October 18 to 20, 2024. Once again this year, a host of producers, artisans, food professionals and restaurateurs will be on hand to celebrate mountain cuisine.

Yannick Alléno, Toquicimes patron

Like every year, Toquicimes has a major sponsor! After Anne-Sophie Pic, Pierre Hermé and Glenn Viel, it's Yannick Alléno 's turn to take on this role. The chef, known for his Pavillon Ledoyen in Paris, is also at the helm of the Le 1947 restaurant at Cheval Blanc (5 toques) in Courchevel, and therefore has a rightful place at a mountain festival. He will be supported by Emmanuel Renaut, chef at Flocons de Sel (5 toques) and co-founding president of Toquicimes.

"I'm proud that Toquicimes has become a popular event so eagerly awaited by the general public and chefs alike, promoting mountain cuisine, its producers and local players. It's a convivial and festive event, dealing with both the problems and the assets of the mountains... Its success lies in the sharing between chefs from different mountains, and in defending our environment: it's up to us, the chefs, to bring local products to life!" says Emmanuel Renaut.

What's on the agenda for Toquicimes 2024?

For this new edition, visitors will be able to attend some of the festival's flagship events, including the Best Megeve Fondue competition, the Best Mountain Pate, the "Je cuisine avec mon boxeur de chef" challenge, as well as masterclasses, children's workshops and a farmers' market.

On October 19, an auction of autographed cooking jackets will also be held, in support of the Antoine Alléno association, which helps families affected by the sudden death of a child.

  • When will the event take place? Toquicimes, from October 18 to 20, 2024.
  • Where? Megève. Free admission.

Rhubarb emerges from the shadows

The queen of rustic pies and crumbles, rhubarb is best enjoyed as a fruit, whereas it is a vegetable. This original plant leaves behind its old-fashioned trappings to spice up the most creative dishes and awaken both sweet and savory palates. One of the first spring vegetables, but the most recent to hit our plates, it's making a name for itself time and time again.
