Reine Sammut becomes chef at Domaine Misincu in Cap Corse
Reine Sammut takes over the culinary reins at Domaine Misíncu, a haven of nature and serenity in Cap Corse. Between Provençal elegance and plant-based conviviality, she infuses La Table et au Jardin with her love of produce and people.
Domaine Misíncu, located on the seafront of Cap Corse, welcomes an emblematic figure of French gastronomy: Reine Sammut. Originally from the Vosges, this self-taught chef, long at the helm of Auberge la Fenière (now run by her daughter Nadia), is embarking on a new adventure. Today, she brings her expertise and culinary sensibility to Domaine Misíncu, designing the menus for the hotel's two restaurants: La Table and Le Jardin.
One hotel, two restaurants
at La Table, Reine Sammut offers refined cuisine rooted in Provençal tradition and enhanced by Corsican produce. Dishes feature aromatic herbs, citrus fruits and heirloom vegetables, in a harmony of flavors and textures. The restaurant's panoramic terrace offers a breathtaking view of the sea, creating the ideal setting for savoring this exceptional cuisine.
Le Jardin, Domaine Misíncu's second restaurant, invites you to enjoy a convivial, plant-based culinary experience. Reine Sammut's commitment to sincere, accessible cuisine is reflected in her sharing plates, made from local, seasonal produce. The herbs and plants used come from the estate's own aromatic garden, reinforcing the link between nature and the plate.
A culinary philosophy in harmony with nature
Reine Sammut expresses her vision of cooking in these terms: "This place touched me immediately. There's a raw energy here, a direct link with the earth, with the wind, with silence. It's the ideal setting for sincere cooking. I'll bring to it what I am: a Southern cook, free, curious, in love with products and people". This approach fits in perfectly with the philosophy of Domaine Misíncu, which advocates "slowspitality", a hospitality that respects the rhythm of nature and people.
A culinary heritage passed on with passion
Reine Sammut has always attached particular importance to passing on her know-how. Her daughter, Nadia Sammut, took over the Auberge la Fenière, carrying on the family legacy. By joining Domaine Misíncu, Reine continues to share her passion for authentic cuisine, highlighting local produce and Mediterranean traditions.
