The 163ᵉ Vente des Vins des Hospices de Beaune will take place this November. Festivities are expected all weekend long: gourmet market, parades or exceptional tastings at Burgundy estates.

With its characteristic polychrome roof and Gothic facade, this architectural masterpiece has become one of the emblems of Burgundy: there's no doubt about it, you're at the Hospices de Beaune, a former hospital founded in 1443 and now a museum.

Every year, on the third Sunday in November, the site hosts the world's most famous charity auction: the sale of wines from its prestigious vineyard estate - 60 hectares, 85% of which are 1er Crus and Grands Crus, managed by 23 winegrowers - to finance its operations and help charitable organizations.

When does the Hospices de Beaune sale take place?

The sale will take place on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 2:30 p.m., under Les Halles de Beaune. Reserved for professionals, it will welcome some 700 buyers from 30 countries. The highlight of the event? The Pièce du Président, a special cuvée sold in aid of charities. This year, the two beneficiaries will be the Foundation for Medical Research (FRM) and the Initiative for Healthy Longevity (IRLB). Thierry Lhermitte, patron of the FRM, has been appointed President of the Wine Sale. In 2022, the Pièce du Président was acquired for a record 810,000 euros.
