Fanny Rey's good addresses

Fanny Rey's good addresses

Mathilde Bourge | 2/18/24, 9:23 AM

Fanny Rey, a talented chef based in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, reveals the best places to buy quality goat's cheese, spices and olive oil.

Distinguished Grande de Demain by Gault&Millau in 2021, she shines with her Restaurant Fanny Rey & Jonathan Wahid (3 toques) in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. For her, "cooking is all about sharing, encounters and emotions", thanks in particular to her favorite producers, with whom she works on a daily basis. "We share with them this taste for the exceptional, the good and the beautiful", assures the chef, who adds that the producers selected below have "marked [her] memory with their talent and know-how".

Goat's cheese from Fromagerie Roumanille, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

For quality goat's cheese, Fanny Rey naturally turns to Fromagerie Roumanille, located less than 2 km from the restaurant. Here you'll find creamy, plain, pepper and savory cheeses, which the chef likes to include on her menu. "They're on the market in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence on Wednesdays and Saturdays, in Maussane on Thursdays and at the Mas Blanc les Alpilles farmers' market on Tuesday evenings, from 5:30 to 8pm between June and September."

Fish from Lou Peissounie Dis Aupiho, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

To select the finest fish, Fanny Rey relies on the knowledge of her fishmonger Nicolas. "He's a great picker of nuggets from the sea", says the chef. Seafood and other treasures can be found on the stalls, and it's possible to request a quote for a special occasion.

  • Where to eat? Lou Peissounie Dis Aupiho, 6bis avenue de la première DFL, Zone industrielle de la Gare, 13210 Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France.

Bread from the Terre&Blé bakery in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

Have you had the chance to sit down at Fanny Rey and Jonathan Wahid's restaurant and enjoyed the bread? If so, you can buy it at the Terre&Blé bakery, just a few hundred meters from the restaurant. "They make delicious breads with ancient wheat flour, from their own production", explains the chef.

  • Where to find us? Boulangerie Terre&Blé, 24 avenue Albin Gilles, Zac de la Gare, 13210 Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.

Entre Sel et Terre grocery store, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

Salts, peppers, spices, teas, peppers, oils, vinegars... You're bound to find what you're looking for at Entre Sel et Terre, a grocery store in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. "They're my favorite grocers," says an enthusiastic Fanny Rey. The store also stocks granolas, black garlic paste and other condiments from world cuisine to spice up all your dishes.

Olive oil from Moulin du Calanquet, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

Provence means olive oil on the table. To offer her customers the very best, Fanny Rey relies on the oils of Gilles and Anne Bun, from Moulin du Calanquet. "Their olive oils offer a wide variety of tastes, depending on the type of fruitiness, the level of bitterness or the degree of spiciness," says the chef.
