Back to school for wine-loving adults. That's the idea behind Le Cordon Bleu Paris, which offers an introductory course in wines and spirits organized in the form of classes and tasting workshops.

Installed in the 15ᵉ arrondissement of Paris since 2016, the culinary arts training campus offers 51 hours of introductory oenology courses. The course will run for two weeks, from Monday June 17 to Friday June 28, 2024.

Its aim is simple: to enable everyone, whether enlightened amateurs or not, students and hospitality professionals alike, to deepen their understanding of aromas and their flavors. The learning sessions will also be designed to teach tasting techniques, with a view, why not, to matching food and wine.

An immersive experience

Classes will be given in French, with English translations to make them accessible to non-French speakers. They will take place in a dedicated space on campus. The room reserved for the two-week course has been designed to recreate the atmosphere of a chai (wine cellar). The course will be divided into three parts: 46.5 hours of classroom teaching, 1.5 hours of tasting workshops and a 3-hour masterclass. The institution, which has 20,000 enrolees worldwide, wants its courses to be interactive. To achieve this, participants will be surrounded by a variety of teachers and speakers, all experts in the field. They will also act as guides during the tasting workshops.

If you would like to take part in Le Cordon Bleu Paris' introductory course, you will need to pay 2450 euros. To register, go to the campus website; the last registrations will close five working days before the start of the course. Once you've done that, all you have to do is head to 13-15 quai André Citröen in the 15ᵉ arrondissement of Paris.
