10 hotels perfect for a business trip

10 hotels perfect for a business trip

Need to get away for a few days on business soon? Here are our 10 hotels across France to help you unwind after an intense day of work and meetings.

Travelling for work is nothing out of the ordinary: meetings, files to complete, trains to catch. But between two appointments, there are places that can turn the drudgery of travel into a moment of choice. Hotels where you can rediscover the spirit of a home, the warmth of a welcome, the comfort of a stopover, and sometimes even the feeling of being on a journey rather than on the move. From Lille to Marseille, Paris to Bordeaux, here are ten addresses that reconcile professional demands with a true art of living.

in Paris, Miss Fuller

just a stone's throw from the Arc de Triomphe, the Miss Fuller doesn't resemble the impersonal hotels usually encountered by travelers in a hurry. Behind its Belle Époque façade, this four-star hotel pays tribute to Loïe Fuller, dancer and muse of Art Nouveau, transforming each floor into a small contemporary gallery. We move from a graphic black-and-white corridor to vivid plant frescoes, before returning to the hushed intimacy of the 44 rooms and 4 suites. The circular bar, animated by artistic projections, invites you to extend your evening with something other than a laptop. The restaurant, Le Serpentine, favors seasonal produce and offers a generous weekend brunch, ideal for those staying a few days. And when the day's been too much, the sauna and whirlpool are the perfect place to unwind before setting off again.

in Caen, La Particulière

In the heart of Caen's historic center, La Particulière stands out as an alternative to the standard addresses usually frequented by travelers on the move. Behind the sober facade of an 18thᵉ century townhouse, one discovers a deliberately intimate venue: only eight rooms, no elevator, but a discreet elegance that favors materials, light and a balance of colors. For those coming to work in the region, the place offers a welcome counterpoint. The silence of the lounges, the hushed atmosphere of the rooms, the care given to breakfast: everything here is a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the business world. In the evening, Bar 1824 becomes an unexpected asset: a hybrid space open to Caennais locals and travelers alike, where you can enjoy signature cocktails, selected spirits or rare teas, depending on the time and mood.

in Monaco, the Méridien Beach Plaza

This hotel has something its neighbors don't: a private beach, a unique privilege in the Principality. Its two glass towers, facing the Mediterranean, house 397 refurbished rooms that emphasize light and comfort, some with spectacular views over the bay. A setting that changes the perception of a business trip: you turn on your computer while looking out at the sea, and close your file as the sun sets behind the balconies. The culinary offer reflects the same diversity. The Muse restaurant plays the informal beach-club card. More original, the hotel is home to Café Lacoste, open from dawn to dusk, where Riccardo Giraudi revisits French bistronomy classics with a sport-chic twist. And recently, Smakelijk, Monaco's first Belgian brasserie, serves shrimp croquettes, vol-au-vent and gourmet fries in a revamped Art Nouveau decor. Between appointments, you can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool, the fitness center or simply the pleasure of walking down to the sand.

in Arles, Le Mas de Peint

Here, in this former 17thᵉ century farmhouse turned 5-star hotel, you work surrounded by Camargue horses and bulls. Every detail of the place tells the story of a family and a terroir. The 13 rooms and suites are all different: some with exposed beams, others dressed in blond stone or more contemporary tones, but always with this search for balance between generous volumes and warm authenticity. Meetings are held in a XVIIIᵉ century sheepfold or under a lodge tent pitched in the heart of the estate, before ending with a dinner signed Juan Ipuz, made with products from the mas itself: rice, olive oil, PDO meat. Then it's time to let go: some go horseback riding through the marshes, others in a guided 4x4 to observe pink flamingos and rice fields, while still others enjoy the calm of the swimming pool.
