Pastry
Just a stone's throw from Square des Batignolles, a pastry shop and tea room that just celebrated its 50th anniversary. As its name suggests, everything here exudes Portuguese delicacies, starting with the famous pastel de nata—available to take away or enjoy on the spot, with or without cinnamon, in its traditional version or a coconut-flavored one. The undisputed star of this patisserie, the pastel doesn’t overshadow the bolas de Berlim—doughnuts filled with pastry cream—the bro de milho (cornbread), or the bolo de arroz, a devilishly moist cake. For lunch and dinner, a selection of light meals rounds out the menu with must-try dishes like braised chicken, bacalhau à bràs (cod), lanches (crispy ham-and-cheese pastries), or soft bread with lightly grilled chorizo.
